Another great shot Dutch, Beautiful focus on the flower, the lovely and simple background is a good choice as not to be too distracting, though this is not my favourite of your pieces I apreciate the dedication, I have a sweet girlfriend of my own and I also remember the sad loss of my own grandfather. Nice work! A quicker shutter speed would have stopped the flow of water completely giving a better sense of timelessness. But overall, a beautiful capture.

Technically, it's well done. I love roses, especially red ones. The title makes me rise my eyebrow though. "Lover's spit" is a title mixed with romance and disgust. (Perhaps this explains your relations to you gf and grandfather?) But I'm just a silly norwegian with not much english skills anyway.

Sorry about your loss. I like the idea you have here, although I would have preferred to see an overall sharper image. The blurred water is a bit out of focus and causes a distraction. Perhaps power your flash unit to full power, close your lens to f/18 or f/22, then retry. You'll have a darker background and a much sharper image. Keep it up! Tommyguns
